Virtual Connection

Virtual Connection was created to provide isolated seniors, either at home or in a long-term care facility, a peek into the life of our youth and young adult volunteers as they go throughout their day or participate in activities. These seniors usually lack access to health and social resources or may be bedridden due to a physical or cognitive setback. The purpose is to enhance the lives of these seniors by providing an opportunity to stay socially active and engaged with our volunteers during a time of limited mobility and isolation. No matter their location, our goal is to bridge generations virtually. We aim to motivate and encourage each volunteer to learn and do something to inspire positive outcomes for a senior’s social health. This will also prepare our youth volunteers to become self-sufficient, community-based leaders who thrive in developing their social, intellectual, and organizational skills while having quality, creative fun.
